Founded in 2007 by Edward Tucker-Brown, Madagascar Classic Collection has become a trailblazer in high-end ecotourism, combining conservation, community engagement, and authentic exploration. From its first venture, Mandrare River Camp, the company set out to reach remote corners of Madagascar while protecting fragile ecosystems and empowering local communities.

Mandrare River Camp

Each property, crafted for minimal impact and maximum experience, immerses guests in Madagascar’s unparalleled biodiversity. The newest project, a camp at Namoroka National Park, integrates a scientific research center hosting Malagasy and international students to support conservation through data and education. A €40 daily conservation levy directly funds reforestation, fire management, and community development.

Madagascar Classic Collection prioritises local employment and training, with Malagasy staff advancing from entry-level roles to management. Through cultural exchanges and global training, they deliver a uniquely warm, world-class service.

With pristine forests, endemic wildlife, and vibrant cultures, Madagascar is poised to become Africa’s next sustainable luxury destination. Tucker-Brown envisions collaboration with Gulf investors and hospitality groups to expand responsible tourism infrastructure while preserving the island’s extraordinary natural heritage. “Madagascar’s potential is enormous,” he says, “and now is the moment to shape it responsibly.”
